Jacob Rynkiewicz has focused on the basic necessity of visually challenged people. He said, “Tactile Wrist-Watch allows those who are visually impaired to better tell the time”. In order to tell the time, the user all need to do is to feel the surface of the watch with their hands. The inner black circle will represents the hours and the outer white circle represents the minutes. The face of watch would have raised bumps along the circumference to indicate different hours. A button with dots will be at the center of the watch which when pressed cause the minute hand to push out allowing the user to adjust the time. He decided that the design of watches will be elegant, sleek and classy as compared to other regular watches. The band of watch will be made from flexible rubber that should not cause any skin irritation and taking the watch on and off should be an easy affair. He plans to power the watch with the 3 volt coin battery which is easily replaceable. At present the watch is still in concept and not yet put into production but it definitely be welcomed by visually challenged people. Not only visually impaired but regular vision will also appreciate and wear this watch for style.
